Lessons will return soon 🛹

*If you have to cancel or reschedule your booked lesson
please give at least 12 hours notice by contacting us at
skatesupport@drivewayskateshop.com

Failure to do so will result in a $15 charge, thank-you.*

We never recommend skating in the rain, it'll ruin your skateboard and make the park slippery and dangerous. If it's raining on the day of your booked lesson one of our instructors will be in contact with you to reschedule at no charge.

What You'll Need

a Skateboard

Skateboards come in all shapes and sizes, we recommend investing in a standard popsicle shaped skateboard. Penny boards and longboards help with learning balance but are mainly used to get from point a to point b.

Standard popsicle decks are pressed with tricks in mind and are purposefully manufactured to absorb impact, and last longer. We'll always have an extra board with us as well if you don't have your own.

safety gear

Skateboarding can be a dangerous sport especially when starting out.  For safety reasons, a helmet is required to participate in lessons for anyone under the age of 18. We additionally recommend investing in wrist, elbow, and knee pads; not only to protect your child/yourself but to help increase confidence on the board!

proper shoes

We recommend a proper set of skateboarding shoes. Griptape is essentially sandpaper, so the more you skate the faster your shoes will wear out. Luckily brands have caught on to this and have designed shoes specifically durable for skateboarding. Be prepared for your shoes to have wear and tear from skateboarding.

Water

Most important! Don't forget to bring water.
Skateboarding is a physically demanding activity and requires proper hydration.

 (Especially in the heat!)
